Big Thanks!
I want to thank everybody for their participation in, and support of, the 2003 Furnace Creek Spring Tour. I can honestly say that this was the most enjoyable tour we've had yet, after six of them. You were all just a nice group of people with whom to spend four days. The crew - Mike, Robert, and Jann - were fabulous, and everything just seemed to fall into place. Every day provided so many memories, from incredible spring flowers everywhere (even along the road IN Death Valley), to the little dirt sections on day one, the soon-to-be-new-and-improved Badwater road, the "freak" hailstorm on day two (ten days later, some of the riders still have bruises!), the 10mph paceline ride into the headwind on day three, the epic "assault on Danté's View" on day three, and of course the glorious magnetic pull of Mt. Whitney on day four. It was just a wonderful time and I thank you all for it!
Special thanks are extended, as well, to Steve Born at E-CAPS / Hammer Nutrition for his goodie bag and nutrional support of the event, as well as Ben and Denise Jones for hosting our finish line on Sunday.
